Due to the material's fabric like natural substrate, masking inconsistencies with an angled weave is necessary but can drastically impact the character of the device.  To drive separation between Verizon and AT&T we refined two neutral weaves, 2x2 Twill and 1x1 Plain.  The 1 x 1 plain has a more subtle and approachable effect which aligned better to the AT&T DL.

The AT&T Atrix HD (on left) was designed in parallel with the Droid RAZR HD (on right).  Both programs shard the same platform architecture and from a design perspective we tried to push them apart while still keeping the devices visually connected.  Atrix took a softer more friendly approach to the overall form.  The graphics and Kevlar pattern are less polarizing.
